Random MOT Emission Checks
The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) maintains the MOT scheme standards by undertaking a number of different spot checks on all vehicles that fall under MOT standards of road safety and the environment. This includes:
Enforcement of MOT scheme standards
VOSA ensure that the standards of MOTs are maintained by accrediting the garages and testers that offer the test. Our examiners also take part in mystery shopper checks (based on intelligence passed to us as well as random spot checks), to check that test standards are being delivered to set government targets.
