29-03-07 MOT Comp records the 50 millionth test
MOT Computerisation reached another milestone on Wednesday 28th March when the 50 millionth test was recorded on the system. The vehicle tested was a Ford Focus C-Max by a garage in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
The database is rapidly expanding - the first 25 million tests took 15 months to record, the second only 9 months as all garages have been on line for almost exactly a year.
At the close of play on 28th March there were almost 50,100,000 tests recorded on the database conducted by over 19400 VTS since roll out began on April 18th 2006. Almost 95% of the tests have been conducted on class IV vehicles (cars) and just under 3% on class I & II (motorcycles). Of the total tests recorded, 36,529,855 are passes.
