VOSA Test booking conditions :
In addition to the terms and conditions listed below, VOSAs test booking conditions also apply.

Use of the On-line service :
You agree to use the On-line service only for lawful purposes, and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict or inhibit anyone else's use and enjoyment of the On-line service. Prohibited behaviour includes deliberately booking more tests than you need, transmitting obscene or offensive content or uploading any viruses.

Virus Protection :
VOSA makes every effort to check and test material at all stages of production. It is always wise for users to run an anti-virus program on all material downloaded from the web.
VOSA will not accept any responsibility for any loss, disruption or damage to your data or your computer system which may occur whilst using material from the On-line service.

Personal information we collect about you :
For each online session we will gather information relating to the identity of the user, the time of use and the access made to the On-line service.
We will allow other government bodies such as DfT, to access from time to time information for administration and security purposes. Our ICT partner Atos Origin may also have access to this information for administration and security purposes.
We may employ the services of a third party to improve the service. In some cases the third party may receive your information. VOSA will however be responsible at all times for the controlled use of your information.
If you extract any data from the On-line service, you must keep it secure or destroy when it has served its purpose.
Unauthorised access is prohibited and may constitute an offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. It may result in criminal prosecution and/or a claim for damages.

Use of Your Credit/Debit Card Details for the On-line service :
When you submit your credit or debit card details to make a payment via the Online Service we will only use these details for that purpose. This information will be treated as confidential and we will not pass it on to any third parties, except where this is necessary to process the payment transaction.
We will only retain the last 5 digits of your card, the card type and the value of the payment.

We cannot accept liability if payment is refused or declined by the credit/debit card supplier (due to you quoting incorrect card details or other reasons).
If the credit/debit card supplier declines payment, we will attempt to contact you for alternative payment but you should check with your bank/credit/debit card supplier that payment has been deducted from your account. It is your responsibility to ensure that payments are made on time.
Misuse of a credit card/debit card or use without the authorisation of the legal holder of the credit card/debit card will be dealt with in the most serious manner and we reserve the right to take legal action against those committing/attempting to commit online frauds.

Intellectual Property Rights :
All copyrights, design rights, trade marks, trade secrets, know-how, database rights and other intellectual property rights (whether registered or unregistered) in the On-line service belong to VOSA or its licensors.
You do not acquire any rights in the On-line service except as expressly granted in these terms of use. Under these terms of use VOSA grants to you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the On-line service for the purpose of electronic transactions in accordance with these terms of use.

Crown Copyright :
The material featured on this website is subject to Crown copyright protection unless otherwise indicated.
Crown copyright protected material (other than the Royal Arms and departmental or agency logos and photography) may be reproduced free of charge in any format or medium, provided it is reproduced accurately and not used in a misleading context.
Where any of the Crown copyright items on this site are being republished or copied to others, the source of the material must be identified and the copyright status acknowledged.
The permission to reproduce Crown protected material does not extend to any material on this site that is identified as being the copyright of a third party. Authorisation to reproduce such material must be obtained from the copyright holder concerned.
Any other proposed use of the material will be subject to a copyright licence available from HMSO, The Licensing Division, St Clements House, 2-16 Colegate, Norwich NR3 1BQ

Availability :
We have taken every care in the preparation of the On-line service to ensure that it is available from 7am until 11.30pm However, as certain technical matters may be beyond our control, we cannot guarantee that you will have uninterrupted access to the On-line service at all times or that the On-line service will be error free. We will not be liable for the unavailability of the On-line service. If a fault occurs, you should report it to webbookings@vosa.gov.uk and we will attempt to correct it as soon as we can.

Limitation of Liability :
We take great care to ensure that only you can use Online Service to carry out electronic transactions , make payments and have access to the On-line service. However, we cannot accept any liability for unauthorised access to the site.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes VOSA’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its proven negligence. Subject to the previous sentence, VOSA shall not be liable for any of the following losses or damage (whether such damage or losses were foreseen, foreseeable, known or otherwise):
(a) loss of data;
(b) loss of revenue or anticipated profits;
(c) loss of business;
(d) loss of opportunity;
(e) loss of goodwill or injury to reputation;
(f) losses suffered by third parties; or
(g) any indirect, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising from the use of the On-line service regardless of the form of action.

You will not be liable for an online electronic transactions which was not carried out by you or for access to or use of the On-line service by someone else, except in the following cases:
where you authorised the carrying out of the transaction or the access to or use of the service;
where you acted fraudulently or negligently, which includes failing to follow the conditions relating to protection of your password.
If you dispute that you have carried out an electronic transaction, we will expect you to co-operate with us and the police in any investigations. We may give the police any information we consider relevant, to enable them to carry out these investigations.

Freedom of Information :
VOSA is subject to the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Therefore, it may on request, have to disclose various information relating to the On-line service from time to time. Where asked by VOSA you are required to assist and cooperate with VOSA to enable it to comply with all information disclosure requirements which relate to the On-line service.

Data Protection Act :
Under the Data Protection Act 1998 you have the right to request a copy of the personal information that we hold about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected. To do so, please contact us at Inform@vosa.gov.uk. We may make a minimal charge for provision of this information.

Variation :
We reserve the right to amend these terms from time to time. Where we make a significant amendment to the terms, we shall notify that the terms have been amended. Any such amendment shall be effective once the revised terms have been posted on the Site. If you continue to use the On-line service after the date on which the revised terms come into effect, your use of the On-line service indicates your agreement to be bound by the new terms.

Application timings :
You have 15 minutes from selecting the type of test to selecting an appointment displayed on screen. If you have not completed this stage in the 15 minute time limit, the system will time out and you will have to start the process again. If this happens any provisional appointment shown to you will be returned back to the system, so may not be there when you return.

Payment timings :
Once the provisional appointment has been selected, you have 15 minutes to complete payment. If you have not completed this stage in the 15 minute time limit, the system will time out and you will have to start the process again. If this happens any provisional appointment shown to you will be returned back to the system, so may not be there when you return.

Reschedule within 3 working days :
If you wish to reschedule within 3 working days and require to change the choice of the station you want the test to be conducted at, then you will have to arrange this through the contact centre, as this service is unavailable on the web.

Dangerous Goods Vehicles :
Dangerous good vehicles can not be booked by this method, if you need to book your vehicle in for a test then please get in touch with the contact center. If you book your vehicle by this method and arrive at the test station the test fee is forfeited and the vehicle will not be tested.
